  1. The solutions of the AntiCirce problem quoted above in German notation:
    -1.Ta8xSg8(>Th1) Sg1xLf3(>Sg8) & 1.Kf1 Txa2(>Th1)=
    -1.Te8xTa8(>Th1) Th1xLb1(>Ta8) & 1.Kg1 Lxa2(>Lf1)=

As you can see, this works with both Calvet and Cheylan.

As a curiosity, Paul had in mind only the first solution and when I solved it I found only the second solution. We were both astonished to discover the other’s one. Sometimes the cooks (NLs) are really an extra bonus!

  3. This classic should stick in the memory of any retro afficionado!

Another example of the same stipulation this time using a fairy condition is:
Paul Raican & Vlaicu Crisan, Phenix 2006
    White: Rh1 Bh4 (2)
    Black: Kg2 pa2 ph2 (3)
    -1(white + black) & h=1 2 solutions
    AntiCirce

    Enjoy solving! 🙂

      • You are absolutely right: I used English notation and there is no white King on the board!

        German notation: Th1 Lh4 – Kg2 Ba2 Bh2
        -(w+s), dann h=1; 2 Lösungen (2+3)
